About LocalEQ
We help professionals whose online presence doesn't match their real-world credibility fix the trust gaps that cost them clients.
Meet Amelia
Hi, I'm Amelia Mossel, founder of LocalEQ. Over more than 20 years working with local businesses, I've watched great companies struggle — not because their work was bad, but because their online presence didn't reflect how good they really were.
The consultant with 30 years of experience whose Google results made them look like they started yesterday. The contractor with a perfect track record but zero reviews. The coach who transforms lives in person but is invisible online.
Why I Started LocalEQ
I've watched too many small business owners spend thousands of dollars on marketing that didn't work — not because the marketing was bad, but because their foundation was broken. A business with a wrong phone number on Google doesn't need a $2,000/month SEO package. They need someone to fix the phone number first.
I founded LocalEQ to be the company I wished existed when I was helping those businesses: one that starts with an honest look at what's actually happening, tells you what you really need (even if it's less than you expected), and gives you the choice to fix it yourself or hire us to do it.
My goal is to have as many businesses as possible get their foundation right — whether I do it or they do it. That's why we offer the free Picked First Field Report and Foundation First Check Field Guide, and why our $129 audit is a real working document, not a disguised sales pitch.
My Philosophy
Before you pay to get more customers to your business online, make sure what they find gives them a reason to choose you.
Most marketing agencies will happily sell you traffic, ads, and "campaigns" while your Google Business Profile has the wrong address and your website looks like it was built in 2012. That's like inviting people to a restaurant with a broken sign and a locked front door.
I believe in fixing the foundation first. I believe in honest recommendations — even when that means telling you that you need less than you think. I believe that you should understand what you're paying for and why it matters. And I believe that if you can do it yourself, you should have every tool you need to try.
That doesn't mean I won't tell you the truth. If your website is costing you business, I'll say so. If your reviews are scaring people away, you'll hear about it. But every recommendation comes with a "why" and a "what you can do about it" — not just an invoice.
Teaching-First Approach
Most marketing agencies lead with a sales pitch. We lead with education. Our free visibility guides, workshops, and transparent audit process are all designed to give you real understanding — not just a black box of "trust us, we're experts."
We believe that when you understand why something matters, you make better decisions about how to fix it. Whether you do it yourself or hire us, you'll leave every interaction more informed than when you arrived.
That's what our teaching-first approach means in practice: we show you the problem, explain why it matters, give you the tools to fix it yourself, and stand ready to help if you'd rather not go it alone.
The Trust Gap
We specialize in what we call "the trust gap" — the distance between how credible you are in real life and how credible you appear online. For most professionals, that gap is costing them clients every single day without them knowing it.
Our job is to close that gap. Fix the static before you add more noise.
Meet Scout
Scout is our mascot — a pointer dog with a nose for finding what's hidden. Just like a pointer spots what others miss, Scout represents our ability to find the visibility gaps that are costing you business. You'll see Scout throughout our materials, always pointing you in the right direction.
When you download the free Picked First Field Report, Scout walks you through what to look for and how to fix the basics yourself. Consider Scout your DIY guide to getting found online.
